Where are the lemons used in René Furterer treatments grown?
Our ORGANIC Lemon Essential Oil is extracted from lemons grown in Italy. We use Sicilian family-run farms whose organic farming methods have international certifications, such as BioAgriCert and Demeter.
We only work with production partners that respect the environment and ensure their employees have good working conditions.
Production processes that respect environment
Our production partners use farming methods that meet organic standards. This includes:
- Mechanical weeding without soil treatment
- Manual harvesting with direct transport to the processing site
- Waste recycling
- Use of animal manure to fertilise the soil
- And much more.

Production criteria
The farmers who grow the lemons for our ORGANIC Lemon Essential Oil must use an irrigation system that avoids waste wherever possible. Waste management is also evaluated.
On a social level, these producers' recruitment process and its impact on local employment is assessed. Similarly, employment contracts are reviewed to ensure that each employee is paid the going rate according to industry standards and the work they undertake.
Processing criteria
We have chosen a processing partner that specialises in the extraction of citrus fruit oils for the lemons used in our ORGANIC Lemon Essential Oil. Here too, waste management is an important issue, as well as employees' work contracts and remuneration.
Indeed, the processing is just as important as the farming side: this is when fruits are pressed to extract the famous ORGANIC Essential Oil that we use in our treatments.
Our projects under development
We're continually looking to implement new initiatives that will improve our ecological and social impact. We're currently looking at ways to grow hedging in lemon orchards, purchase equipment to make harvesting easier and provide sporting activities for seasonal workers' families.
