A range of serums dedicated to hair beauty and scalp health
Serums are used to address specific hair or scalp needs. They have many features and should be included in your hair beauty routine when the hair lacks shine or is weakened. They also energize and care for the scalp after just a few applications. What is a hair serum?
What are its functions? Who should use one? How do you use it?
What is a scalp serum?
Some are applied to the scalp and are designed to slow down hair loss or boost hair growth; these are known as anti-hair loss serums. Other serums are recommended if the scalp is sensitive, or if it is suffering from the effects of ageing and external damage. Their soothing and protective benefits help combat pollution, the sun, excessive heat from straightening and drying appliances, or chemical treatments. Serums can be designed for hair that is coloured, ageing, frizzy, dull, split, brittle, straightened, coloured, etc. The options are almost endless, as there are so many specific serums to choose from. Finally, serums aren't just for people with specific problems: they can also be used as a preventative measure to keep your hair and scalp healthy.
What is the difference between a hair serum and a hair oil?
At René Furterer, we understand that your hair needs specific care to stay strong and healthy, especially when it comes to preventing hair loss and maintaining scalp vitality. Our products, in particular the Triphasic range, are designed to offer targeted and effective solutions.
- Hair serum: More than just a finishing product, our serums are designed to improve the health of the scalp. Lightweight and non-greasy, they contain active ingredients that stimulate and revitalise the scalp while promoting hair growth. By applying the serum directly to the scalp and massaging it in gently, you stimulate microcirculation and create an optimal environment for strong, healthy hair.
- Hair oil: Hair oil is a rich, nourishing treatment, perfect for moisturising and repairing dry, damaged hair. Applied all over the hair, from roots to ends, it provides intense hydration and strengthens the hair fibre. Hair oil helps to improve the overall health of the hair, leaving it soft and shiny.
What are the benefits of hair serums?
Serums are a leave-in treatment enriched with active ingredients, perfect for repairing, nourishing and enhancing the hair and scalp. The hair serums in René Furterer’s Triphasic range are designed with cutting-edge expertise in hair loss prevention. Thanks to revitalising active ingredients, they stimulate the scalp and improve microcirculation, creating an optimal environment for hair growth. These serums also strengthen the hair fibre, reducing breakage and preventing hair loss.
How do I choose the right serum for my hair type?
Finding the perfect serum for your hair can seem complicated, but don't worry, we've got you covered! At René Furterer, we offer serums specially designed to meet the needs of each hair type, particularly in the prevention of hair loss with our Triphasic range.
If you have fine, flat hair, opt for a lightweight serum that won't weigh your hair down while adding volume and shine. For dry, damaged hair, a serum rich in nourishing and moisturising ingredients is your best ally for repairing split ends and restoring softness. If you have curly or frizzy hair, choose a serum that defines your curls and controls frizz, while providing moisture and suppleness. For colour-treated hair, a serum that protects the colour and prevents fading is ideal, especially those with UV filters to preserve shine. Finally, if you have a sensitive scalp, opt for soothing and revitalising serums that stimulate hair growth while caring for your scalp.
How do I apply a hair serum?
Some serums can be used directly on the scalp, others only on the lengths and ends. It's important to choose and apply the right serum for your hair type. Each product also has specific recommendations to follow.
On dry hair, warm the serum between your fingers and apply to the lengths and ends. A few drops of product are all that's needed, and there's no point in applying too much, as this weighs hair down and can make it look greasy. Apply the serum to damp hair after shampooing and conditioning, working from the top to the bottom of the lengths. Serums don't need to be rinsed out: once you've finished applying them, simply style your hair as usual.
